Amnesty for crime

Mesic or Faber does the amnesty?
(on croatian at 45 lines, 15.06.2005)

President Stjepan Mesic recently grant amnesty to Stjepan Grandic , third accused from Gospic’s group. Now the lawyers of Mirko Norac are hoping that their client could live to be under Mesic’s amnesty. I wouldn’t be surprised that Mesic give amnesty to Norac, considering that assisstant of President of Commission for amnesty, Vladimir Faber, in relation of best man with chief of POA, Tomislav Karamarko, the person who is extraordinary declined to Stedul people: Miro Laco, Mirko Norac, Mirko Ljubicic Sveps

Vladimir Faber has, in place of deputy of President of Commission for amnesty, replaced Ante Karic, in December last year deceased witness against Gospic’s group.

Faber is by Ivica Djikic’s opinion, deputy of main editor of Feral Tribune, main Karamarko’s candidate for state secretary in Ministry of police, and formerly Globus saw him on place of chief of police.

At the end of last year, Mesic’s commission gave amnesty to Niko Barun, former chief of police in Umag, who was convicted as an orderer of murder of famous Umag’s caterer, Srbislav Petrov, murdered on 2nd September 1991.

Chronology of Barun case:

- murder of Srbislav Petrov, 2nd September 1991.
- The same year in November Barun was arrested
- In December 1992. Barun was convicted on nine years on County court in
Rijeka
- In August 1993. Supreme court abolished the verdict of County court
- In 1994. Barun got out of custody, because at that time state prosecutor, Vladimir Seks, changed the qualification of self-interest murder in plain
murder
- Barun was free since 1994. till 20th August 2003., when he was convicted again on eight years in prison
- On 22nd October 2004. got out of custody after five years, because Mesic has forgiven three years

Branko Skoric, Novi list, 10th November 2004.

Niko Barun, the orderer of murder of Srbislav Petrov, got amnesty from President Stjepan Mesic

By the end of nineties, while he was free, Barun was often seen in Zagreb in Savska Road, where UP was visiting Tomislav Karamarko, at that time assisstant of Minister for personnel in Ministry of police and brought reports to him about hostile activities of certain Istrians (mostly Serbs, but also inferior Croats).

Niko Barun was friend at that time with Zvonimir Trusic, to whom in his bar on Zagreb’s Remetinec used to come Tomislav Karamarko and Vladimir Faber.

I’m afraid that Mirko Norac, even if Mesic give him amnesty, will not have any benefit out of it.
